Maya is an art practitioner, educator, and art therapist from Tokyo, Japan. Currently based in Singapore, she explores traditional and contemporary approaches to working with print, paper, and book forms. She embraces materiality and process, drawing links to cycles of erosion, decay, repair, and rebirth.

Through art-based workshops, classes, and therapy sessions, she has worked with school students, adults with disabilities, and older adults in palliative care. Across varied populations and institutions, she highlights the role art and creativity plays in supporting individual and community wellbeing.
